About Tim.

I help ecommerce and SaaS companies figure out what is going to drive growth.

I have been doing this for 15+ years. I started in traditional advertising, moved to digital marketing when it was still figuring itself out, and have been building and optimizing growth systems ever since.

Currently I am head of marketing at a sustainable products company where we are building patented biodegradable technology and bringing it to market. I also work with a small number of ecommerce and B2B SaaS companies on their growth strategy.

02Why I Do This Work

Most companies do not need better media buying.

I started the marketing agency version of Clare Digital because I was good at paid media and knew I could help companies get better results than they were getting from their current agencies.

What I realized over time is that most companies do not need better media buying. They need someone who can see the complete picture and figure out what is going to move the needle.

Sometimes that is better creative strategy. Sometimes it is landing page optimization. Sometimes it is a positioning problem, or a measurement problem, or an offer problem. Running ads better does not fix those things.

So I rebuilt my practice around being that strategic partner instead of just another channel specialist. I work with fewer companies and enjoy the work more, because I am solving real problems instead of just optimizing CPMs.

03How I Work

A small roster, and you work with me.

I keep my client roster small. Right now I work with 4 to 5 companies at a time, which means I can be selective about who I work with and give each client real attention.

You work directly with me. I am the person you talk to, who makes the decisions, who is accountable for the work. When a project needs specialized resources (design, dev, creative production), I bring in the right people. But you are not dealing with account managers or getting passed around.

The combination Technical enough to build things (ad accounts, landing pages, analytics setups), strategic enough to know when building something is not the answer.
04Some Background

Real people, not polished personas.

I live in Redding, Connecticut with my family. Outside of work you will usually find me cooking, playing guitar, or spending time with the people I care about.

I mention this because I think it matters to work with real people, not just professional personas. The more authentic we can be with each other, the better the work tends to be.

I am probably not the right fit if you are looking for someone who is going to tell you what you want to hear or sell you things you do not need. I am direct, honest, and opinionated about what works and what does not. But if you want someone who will help you figure out what matters and focus your energy there, we will probably work well together.
